There are many appliqué techniques to learn as well as silk ribbon, wired ribbon flowers and embroidery stitches. The pattern has clear, close-up directions and is printed in color. It’s probably not doable in one month; however, you do have the year to finish this group. Also, you will be introduced as to how to make the sashings that go around each block.

The techniques for this block are pencil coloring on fabric to get just the right color for the bird’s tail, off-the-block assembly of bird, and embroidery work on the coneflower to give the seed pod a realistic look. Complete instructions are given for all the embroidery of flower pod, bird leg and feet, wing, eye and beak.

This is a combination of two months. In month 4, you will appliqué vine and leaves plus the birds. The birds are assembled in the off-the-block method. In month 5, you will learn how to make wired edge French silk ribbon flowers and buds. When completed, you will have instructions to add the first inner border around the center block, scalloped border around the center, plus the second pieced border and the inset of accent fabric.

Birds in Full View

Imagine looking out your window and seeing all those birds perched in your tree! Each block is a finished 15" block. All the blocks join together to form a tree as seen through the window. There are 12 full size patterns with color up close print in the text section of each block. The Birds in Full View pattern will be retiring when patterns are all sold.
